The Bahamas’ reputation as an offshore jurisdiction is not anything new and you probably have read about bankers in shorts in summer magazines! We are very familiar with this Jurisdiction and a banker in shorts would be about as highly regarded as a banker wearing a jogging suit in Geneva…
The Bahamas are a group of approximately 700 islands, located in the southeast of Florida and northeast of Cuba. The capital city is Nassau and is on New Providence Island.
These islands are an independent member of the British Common wealth since 1973 and are now responsible for all the internal affairs except for those concerning security. As one can imagine the legal system is based on British common law. The International Business Companies Act of 1989 has enabled the Bahamas to become a major financial center.
